Because we feel that it is important to be able to track the provenance of our ingredients we do not buy our grain on the open market. Instead we have contracts directly with British farmers who we pay a premium to grow Conservation Grade crops. They are like-minded individuals who are committed to environmentally-friendly farming practices and, over the years, many have become friends.
Several of the farms are also within striking distance of our Mill at Bedford which reduces the carbon footprint of transporting the crops to the mill.
