When it comes to a quintessentially British breakfast, marmalade has to be the go-to spread every time. And if you’ve ever tried it stirred into your morning porridge, you’ll know why we’re getting so excited about the first ever National Marmalade Week that kicks off this weekend with the World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival on Saturday. If you’re near to Dalemain in Cumbria, head down to the mansion house to join in marmalade workshops or to browse the farmers market. If you’re not local, why not hold your very own marmalade celebrations instead? By organising a marmalade-themed cook-off, or on an orange-flavoured community breakfast you could even raise money for your favourite charity.
