Wholesome flapjacks

Recipe makes about 12 flapjacks depending how big or little you want them to be.

Takes 20 minutes to make and 20-25 minutes to bake.

You can use any one of the Jordans muesli’s or porridge oats in this recipe depending on whether you want a nutty, tropical or more traditional flapjack. Here we used Jordans Tropical Muesli for a fruity flavour.

150g reduced fat margarine, eg Flora
150g ready to eat, stoned dates – presoaked for at ;east an hour  in 3 tbsp apple juice, you can try prune juice for a different twist.
225g Jordans Tropical Muesli, or just porridge oats for a more traditional flapjack
1. Preheat the oven to 190C/fan 170C/gas 5. Grease and line a shallow 17.5cm tin with greaseproof paper, then grease again to prevent the flapjacks sticking.
2. Put the dates and juice in a food processor and blend until smooth, this will look very sticky but don't worry, the fruit will stick the flapjacks together. Melt the margarine in a pan over a low heat. Add the date puree and the muesli (or oats). Stir well, then press into the tin. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
3. Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes. Cut into squares in the tin, allow to cool completely before turning out as these flapjacks can be quite hard to handle!

Hi We have just launched Country Crisp Chocolate in the UK, it is stocked in larger Sainsbury's and some Waitrose stores. I have asked our care Team to see if they can find you some stores near you. I hope that helps Rachel

We have been eating the Jordans Chocolate Crisp in France bought from the Intermnarche supermarket in Lombez for the last couple of years. It makes a great start to the day. How can we buy it in the UK near Derby or Belper or over the internet?
